What is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual direction is a relational process where a spiritual director accompanies you along your journey to deepen your relationship with God and live out your faith in a more embodied and integrated way.
The real spiritual director is God. I am not here to “direct” in the sense of giving advice and solving problems. Rather, I serve as a companion to help you hear and engage with the Spirit's invitation into God's presence.
You may be wrestling with what you believe or picking up the pieces from a damaging church experience. You may be embarking on an exciting new avenue of faith or faced with hurtles that seems insurmountable. I am honored to accompany you on the journey as you learn tools and practices to help you move forward.

My Religious Background:
I am a Protestant Christian who believes the Apostles' Creed. I grew up in a Southern Baptist family. My early faith was formed in the Christian & Missionary Alliance and, due to my education in Hebrew Bible, my faith has been strongly influenced by Jewish thought. I now serve as a pastor in a Presbyterian church.

My purpose is not to force my flavor of faith on you. We each have a unique lens through which we experience faith. You deserve to know the lens through which I work as a spiritual director.

I am not here to fix your problems or answer your questions. I am here to walk alongside you on your spiritual journey, helping by giving you tools to connect deeper with the Spirit and yourself.
Statement of Beliefs
The roots and foundations of my work as a spiritual director
My work is firmly grounded in Christian beliefs and practices, rooted in foundational doctrines like the Apostles' Creed and the inspiration of the Judeo-Christian Scriptures.

I incorporate contemplative practices from diverse Christian traditions, including Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox, into my spiritual direction.

It's important to note that you don't need to share these same beliefs. You might identify as Christian, hold another faith, have no religious affiliation, or even be in a period of questioning and doubt. If you have any questions about my beliefs and how they influence my role as a spiritual director, please don't hesitate to reach out.
